Abstract

The article considers the pedagogical conditions for the development of a foreign language future teacher’s citizenship. The formation of the future generation’s citizenship is inextricably linked with the development of the future teacher’s citizenship since he acts as a translator of civil experience: moral, patriotic, national-cultural values. The purpose of this article is to identify the optimal pedagogical conditions for the development of foreign language future teacher’s citizenship. The theoretical and methodological basis of the study was the philosophical foundations of modern approaches to developmental education, set forth in the works of N.L. Khudyakova, A.B. Neveleva, V.S. Neveleva, axiological and value-activity approach to the formation and the development of citizenship, developed in the studies of N.A. Ivanova, N.A. Savotina, integrative understanding of the essence of citizenship as developing personality qualities (A.B. Bushueva, A.V. Kurshev). As a result, it was found that the development of the future teacher’s citizenship will be effective if the following pedagogical conditions are met: the development of citizenship is a goal and is carried out within the framework of developing civil education; development of potential opportunities of personal civil experience involves interrelated and mutually agreed reproduction of its components; the moral, ethical, patriotic and socio-cultural components will act as an invariant of the content of the development of citizenship; involvement of students in active independent activity; orientation of university teachers to the continuous broadcast of universal values in order to most effectively develop citizenship among students, representing an example of civil behavior. The results obtained in the study contribute to the development of the theory of civil education and the preparation of the future teacher.
